1. Who we are

This policy covers pollen.today, a pollen forecast service for Europe operated by SimpleMeteo.

2. What data is processed

IP-based geolocation

Each time you open the home page or press “Detect my location”, your IP address is looked up on our server in a local copy of the IP2Location LITE database to find your approximate city. The address is not stored or passed on. pollen.today uses the IP2Location LITE database for IP geolocation.

Analytics

We use Simple Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service based in the Netherlands (EU). It sets no cookies, records no IP address and does not track individual visitors. Only anonymous, aggregated metrics are recorded, such as page views, referrers, browser, language, country and screen size.

Local preferences

Your settings (language and allergy choices) and any places you save as favourites are kept in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us.

Pollen API requests

Forecasts come from our own server. Your location is not sent to any weather data provider.

3. What we do NOT collect

We do not use cookies. We do not require user accounts or authentication. We do not collect names, emails, or phone numbers. We do not track individual users across sessions. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.

4. Cookies

pollen.today sets no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, and no advertising cookies.

5. Third-party services

  • Simple Analytics — Cookieless page-view statistics. It records no IP address.
  • IP2Location LITE — Local IP geolocation database, queried on our own server. Your IP address is not sent to IP2Location.
  • Cloudflare — Every request passes through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address. Cloudflare privacy policy.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Since we do not store personal data in any database, most GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not applicable. If you have questions, contact us via the link below.

7. Children

This website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process personal data from children.

8. Changes

If our data practices change materially, this page will be updated before those changes take effect.
